about Chef Jenxie...

Chef Jenxie got her start at a young age...

Whipping up salads was one of her first favorite hobbies at the age of six. Influenced by her parents and grandparents, she learned many different approaches to cooking, but all were from scratch.

The Arthur's lived on a farm, and Grandma Ruth made everything that came from her kitchen and gardens a perfection.

The Burnell's were restaurateurs, to their own right. They had many different locations and offerings throughout the years, one being Burnell's Cafeteria on 52nd & College in Indianapolis.

As a 4th generation restaurateur, Chef Jenxie has transformed her family's recipes and flavors into modern-day dishes that delight the taste buds and are easier on the waist.

Many different life events have directed Chef Jenxie to study nutrition, diet, and healthy living. She has incorporated her findings and experience into many projects over the years: Jenxie's Moodi Cafe, SoBro Cafe, The Brass Ring, and Jenxie Delivers are just a  few.

She has also practiced as a private chef, concentrating on macrobiotics, health through nutrition, and serving many clients' diet-specific needs. The loss of clients, friends, and family due to diseases that she feels are preventable yet epidemic has fueled her passion with fervor.

She is convinced that you can achieve a healthy, thriving life by eating the foods that most benefit your body.  This nutrition is fundamental to her program.  She has seen the benefits through the vast improvement of her clients' conditions.

Chef Jenxie also loves to garden.  She says, "It can't get more organic than you growing chemical free vegetables in your own yard."  Her clients have been enjoying the fruits of her labor for many years now.  She has even coached some of them on starting their own gardens!
